This leap of faith was then diverted by an unexpected journey to Eymet (France) to create a new home in a delightful village, both a tranquil and a healing place. It is the perfect place to write and to regenerate.

The intention is still to continue with the development of performances of the sopolyrimu, but gradually including dance as well as improvised music and the use of projected images that embellish the story or the feelings of the sopolyrimu being performed. A further intention is to create the fourth CD of sopolyrimu with an ensemble of musicians. This will take some time to get off the ground, although several musicians have expressed an interest in being involved. Ken Barnes of Savage Bean Productions (previously of NHK) made a video of one of the 90 minute performances in London, with improvised violin, but this is still to be edited. After it has been edited the video will be put onto YouTube and Last.fm.

I have recently completed Volume 6 of the Sopolyrimu (Songs off the Horizon) and am currently working on Volume 7, to be called Songs from under the Pump. However, my main focus now is working on another work of prose-poetry to be called D-tours (or one man's final 100 years, more or less), which may take at least 5 years to complete. (See web site for Aurora Nova Publishing). Volume 3 (Songs like fallen Apples) will be published by i-Universe in late 2010.

Leap of Faith Tour: Jump 1

It happened on October 31, as planned, and after very rewarding rehearsals with the in-demand violinist, Mardyah Tucker. Not a packed house, but the 90 minute non-stop experience was rewarding for everyone who came, and possibly exhausting too. The event was filmed and some of that footage may be on youtube later, but certainly here in the blog.

Now starting make to make plans for a CD with sopolyrimu set to the input of an ensemble, including violin, cello/bass, guitar, piano and percussion. Early stages yet, but exciting ideas. After that, the plan calls for the incorporation of dance. It's a big hill to climb but usually the view from on top of big hills more than rewards the effort of climbing them.

Next Jump is on November 22.
